Whats the difference between 150mm trucks and 180mm trucks on longboard skateboards?

I know one is bigger but what does it do to the board itself? does it turn wider or something?

The turning will be wider, if you have a long board, your wheels will rub if your trucks aren't long enough, if you have real long trucks on a reg. board, it will be harder to do flip tricks. You just need to make sure your wheels dont bite your board.
